Dj Culture: TRENDY WENDY schofield
WENDY'S christmas PARTY MIX PODCAST
Wendy Schofield, better known as Trendy Wendy, began DJing in 1992, just for fun.
She was introduced to the Edinburgh club scene three years later as DJ and promoter of the now legendary Tackno, a club that, musically, went  where no club had dared to go, mixing kitsch, pop, classics, easy listening, soft rock and pure cheese.
Since then Trendy Wendy has played in every reputable venue in town and was once voted Best DJ, ahead of Fatboy Slim and John Peel. Over the years she has played residencies at 4-Play, Time-Tunnel, Pop Fiction, Joy, Wiggle and The Snatch Social. Wendy is also part of the partnership that own Edinburgh cafe bars The Street and Elbow.
What is this month's floor filler?
Totally depends on where I'm playing. However, as it's December, I should probably say that every year. My most requested Christmas songs are Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You and The Pogues' Fairytale of New York.
Who was/is your DJ guru/inspiration?
It has always been Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook. I think there's still an opening for a female equivalent.
What was your most banging Edinburgh gig ever?
The Hogmanay that I brought Armand Van Helden over from the US to play at The Big Splash at Ocean Terminal. It totally rocked, was an amazing night, and it was an honour to warm up for a DJ of such standing.
What was the first track you ever bought.no matter how embarrassing?
Now That's What I Call Music - Volume One.
Favourite all time track?
Just has to be Ain't No Mountain, by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It's one song I never tire of playing or hearing.
You can catch Trendy Wendy on Sunday at Tackno's Boxing Night celebrations in The Voodoo Rooms
Track list:
All I Want For Christmas - Mariah Carey
All Night Long - Lionel Ritchie
Like A Prayer - Madonna

GUEST PODCAST:

CREME ORGANIZATION PODCAST MIXED BY TLR

Play:-  Guest Podcast: Creme JAK Record Label by The Guide Clubland

Creme Organization is Dutch west coast underground techno label founded in 2000 by TLR (Jeroen Van Der Star), an offspring of bunker records. Since then, the label has been 100% independent and totally self indulgent, creating a special blend of distinctly euphoric-nilhilistic techno.
Label Boss, Jeroen Van Der Star kindly put together a 30 minute mix together for us, showcasing the freshest releases available on Creme/JAK. Kicking off with 2AMFM's 'Final Approach', Jeroen takes us on a dark journey epitomised by tracks such as 'Dark Tears' by D'Marc Cantu.  A sinister soundscape painted, we are treated to the likes of JTC in which Jeroen finishes it all off with a monstrous acid frenzy by The Minister - Physical pain.

Tune in, turn on and Toe tap to this mix and enjoy.

Check out: http://www.globaldarkness.com/ for further Creme Organization information.
