An excellent remix package with loads to choose from. Norman Doray's remix is a big room party banger packed full of energy. Soaring high with intense build-ups and a killer vocal, it's pure hands up in the air material. Essential.

JOHN DAHLBACK - Kairo (Mutants)

Dahlback's label goes from strength to strength, and this is no exception. Massive electro riffs pan left and right as beats bash the floor on a furious collision course with peak-time pleasure. Big.

THOMAS GOLD - Agora (Size)

Pumping' beats, tech percussion and electro chords filter in. Gold builds the tension by dropping the beat out while raising the riff higher and higher. By the time the beats comes back in the dance floor will ignite. Explosive stuff.

BAHAR CANCA AND MATT WILLIAMS - Think Twice (Sub Bubble)

Three top mixes from the Wembley crew, Channel X's Remix is magic. A deep bass groove, nice pads accompanied by orchestrated strings to add a little disco flavour. Matt's warm and silky vocal completes the soulful groove. An Ace on centre court...

JAY MYA - In The Morning, Drum n' Bass Radio Edit (Agency Global)

taking a different approach to UK commercial R 'n' B, Mya's influences range from Calvin Harris to the UK grime scene. Drum 'n' Bass and electro mixes included. Love it or hate it you'll be tapping your feet and joining Tinchy Stryder in appreciation. Cheeky release.

RUSS GABRIEL  - OUT TO LUNCH, ORIGINAL MIX (DIEB AUDIO)
Tech house is high on the menu this week with this superior serving of Detroit. Tribal percussion fills with a deep bass groove and hypnotic chords build forming what becomes a beautiful journey.

PHIL KIERAN – EMPTY VESSELS EP (ELECTRIC DELUXE)
An excellent package of prime time techno from the talented Irishman, made all the more intense with the inclusion of Gary Beck's Remix Tool 1 . A dark slab of euphoric techno which pounds the floor relentlessly. This, as the saying goes is a case of... empty vessels make the most noise.

ROOTKNOX MEETS VARIANZ – FROM BERLIN TO BUENOS AIRES (ROOTKNOX MEETS VARIANZ)
This very special compilation has the finest examples of deep techno. The boys from Buenos Aires shifted their digs for the summer months to be inspired by the Berlin scene. The standout track for me in this epic collection is Paul Brtschitsch’s Adiamo -Analogue warmth is released through vintage tech loops and plays rich.

JEROME & JAMIE ANDERSON – SKETCHES, REMIXES (OUTLAND RECORDS)
Holland is fast becoming an institution for quality house music as you'll find here. Fresh from releasing tunes on Carl Craig’s Planet E label Jerome & Jamie fuse the energy of Detroit with the subtleties' of house resulting in twisted melodies and hypnotic grooves.

TAKT TICK – U1 (PHUNKIT RECORDS)
Available on vinyl as well digital suggests the intended dance floor might be a bunker, where the one’s and two’s spin as sweat becomes a cloud of mist by 1am.  Ironically entitled Whisper is dark thumping techno action with an uncompromising and savage sound.

Dan Ghenacia - Globe EP (Crosstown Rebels)
Catch these two atmospheric tech house imprints from the formidable Crosstown Rebels label. Deep bass grooves fill the soundfield as spooky synths climb as hi-fi-crashing shtooms work it with warm percussion that blends beautifully with a seductive vocal.

Manik - McLovin’ You EP (Culprit)
This four pack of funky house will add some spiciness to any eclectic house collection. McLovin’ You is a trippy bass heavy funker. The track Sex Panther, on the other hand, adds quirky synth loops to a buoyant house groove. Of the other two dishes on offer, Crooklyn is... well, imagine a spacewalk with laughing gas instead of oxygen, while Jazzabella is a masterful cooking cut.

De Signer - Suicide Girl EP (Hot Creations)
All these three developed mixes are very cool. Crazy P offers up a slice of cosmic disco with a nod to the 80s (Paul Hardcastle-style drum rolls). That said it’s Robin Porter & Subb-an’s remix for me. A quality bass buster with techie loops, African rhythms and echoed vocals.

Rowdent - Rowdent EP (Wonk)
This fantastic EP features Get A Bet On, which fires old skool tech stabs over a funky groove that’s sure to have everyone moving. The other two trax are not to be missed either, deep trip Rushin Roulette is exemplary and Um Bongo, complete with head slicing chords and wonky melodies, is choice.

Mario Basanov - UP EP (NeedWant Recordings)
The title track steals the show for me on this release. Spacey noises give way to a ghostly piano. It builds and builds as the bass groove intensifies and the beats tighten. It soars higher and higher, climbing and climbing... absolutely guaranteed to bring you UP

VARIOUS ARTISTS - Elements Volume 1 (Electric Sheep)

An eclectic selection from the Electric Sheep boys. There are too many tracks on this uber-EP to list. but for me, it's Joe Jamato's seriously funky house tune, Let Me Try On, with it's body-moving bass-line and old skull techie stabs shines through.

MARTIN DAWSON - Double Six EP (King Klong)

Another fine release from one of the funkiest house labels around. Top picks here are Double Six (both mixes). Ramon Tapia take disco/funky house to new limits with his hypnotic mix. Running To Sthlm (Original Mix). On the flip is a bit special too. A bacc-heavy tribal cut with an edgy thump and head churning groove is fantastic. Not to be missed.

BEN GOMORI - I See The Trouble With You (Baker Street Recordings)

Taken from the trouble EP, the slice of uplifting pro house is a dreamy cut. A lush arpeggio rolls over the top of direct beats and builds with clever programming and solid bass groove that is reminiscent of the halcyon days of Renaissance. In actual fact the whole EP is well worth a purchase as it's a regal choice for house prefects.

CLUB RAYO - DIRTY WAY EP (Area Sur)

A super release for the South American group known for producing quality, deep, sexy grooves. The remix pack has a vibrant take on the original house tracks, including Martini Dry, a tech house rework by yours truly (that'll be the Grant Paterson Remix),. For me however, Rayo's majestic track Sin Luz, is the one, it rides the line between deep house and softer edged techno. There's something for everyone here, funky soulful house to tight tech workouts, and it's available everywhere.

POLARSETS - Morning EP (Kahula)

These Geordie boys are well worth a listen, thanks to their special blend of indie electronica. This three tracker is nothing short of amazing, trance influenced Morning is a fantastic melodic track with vocals that sweep soulfully. The Giom Remix is a deep house beauty, which marries the union of soul, rock and funk. Bonfired meanwhile has elements of the best of 80s indie, packed full of emotion and nigh short of perfection.

Stefano Noferini - That’s Good (Deep Perfect)
A risky title unless, of course, it is indeed the truth, which it is. As the bass line hooks you in, a powerful kick drives this big-room tune, swooshing into even deeper territory thanks to a brilliant tech chord. This is good,  very good indeed.

Pete Heller - Nu Acid EP (Bedrock)
One EP, three mixes, all excellent, but top marks go to the Robert Babicz remix, which is bass heavy with a stonking 303 acid anthem. The dance floor will go mental. Don’t be surprised if your jaw becomes unhinged and is found kicking around the South Pole thanks to the Nu Acid school of progression.

Bukaddor & Fishbeck - Glaedys EP (MBF)
A top EP from MBF. Flip it straight onto Vocoloco, a track guaranteed to take any frenzied crowd a step closer to the edge. Just unbeatable. A bass haven, techno heaven, if you could buy audio brilliance this would be it... so, buy it.

Max Cooper - Expressions & Remixes EP (Traum)
Exceptional release featuring the freshest talent in the form of Max and Marc Marzenit. The pair take the deeply atmospheric track Ripple, and coat it in an icy layer that glimmers and sparkles across the dance floor with crystalline precision.

Joe Fisher - Trombola, 2Robots Remix (Future Lovers)
Peak time prog tech with a tension building intro, this one explodes into a furious bass-heavy journey. Creates a head churning effect, like being spun in rotations of G-Force 5. You will be left shaken and stirred.

QUENUM - Boomerang EP (Clapper)
Throw it and it comes back... This is a chunky, funky tech cut with an irresistible bass line that sticks in your head. Just Take It, on the flip side, is a seductively warm groove featuring vocals by Paris, who delivers a deep message begging to be heard. Simply genius.

JOHN SHIMA - Fader EP (Red Robot Records)
It's all gone sci-fi with this beautiful Detroit techno EP. The standout track, Archer, is a dreamy slice of a musical head honey, hypnotic chords release warm pads and shimmering sounds. Delightful.

GEHT'S NOCH - Chubby EP (Jack Union Records)
An electro track with big-booty bouncing base lines and catchy samples that hook and unleash a killer groove. Throw in a thumping kick drum to create serious damage on the largest of dance floors.

SASCHA MULLER - My Mother EP (Super 6)
This is one of the sickest techno tunes since Dave Clark's Red 5. You'll be booking your dancing trainers into the cobblers after the DJ drops this into the mix.

MJ COLE & WILEY - From the drop (Prolific Recordings)
Check out MjsdropDub and the LVis1990 Remixes, both are excellent with booming bass lines and banging beats. Echoed vocals and unerving chords set a tone intensified by dripping acid lines and an old school vibe. A rude release.

Grant Patersons Floorfillaz:

Dave Seaman & Andy Chatterley - K Conundrum,  Fiord Mix (Phonetic Recordings)
A burning bass line drives this massive melodic monster to a tension building climax. Packed full of clever tech noises and upbeat sounds which slingshots this into orbit and well beyond. Stellar stuff indeed.

Joe Fisher - Iridium, Original Mix (Future Lovers) 
A bomb of a tune. Layer upon layer of mind blowing sound dazzles the senses and will transport you to another world with no sign of return.  Does it really matter when it's this good?

Traversable Wormhole - Closed Time Like Curve (CLR 035) 
Straight into the thick of it: slab-like chunky techno bubbles with tick-tock hi hats. A powerful and edgy groove for the darkest of dance floors.

Roberto - Techno Gym (Architronica Records) 
Subtly building a hypnotic groove. Elemental techno flows complimented by a beautiful chord pattern, a sure fire techno workout to keep it moving.

Inaya Day vs Diego Ray & Nick Corline - Til the morning comes, Ricky Rinaldi Remix (Adaptor)
A house anthem to send everyone crazy. Percussion ticks away as a thunderous old school house piano loops and bass beat slams in. Inaya Day is the diva who belts out the hands in the air vocal. Big.

Grant Paterson's Floor Fillaz:

FUZZY HAIR - Vola Via (Molto Recordings)
With a powerful kick and bass that will test every sound system and move every floor complemented by lovely chiming chords which drift as melodies soar, this is a very special track. It would take Beelzebub himself to climb out of his pit and try and wipe the smile off your face as you dance. That said, I reckon he'd still fail as you 'vola via' (means fly away in Italian).

MARTIN EYERER feat. SIAN KOSHEEN - Your Move, Thomas Schumacher Remix (Blu Fin)
This hypnotic deep house track creates the impression of floating in a bowl of chunky techno soup. Trouble is, it such a tasty cut you'll want to keep it and drink it all yourself.

CHRISTIAN FISCHER - Black Coffee (Definition Records)
Taken from the fantastic Change Disco album, Black Coffee is full of unexpected twists and turns. As jazz horns blast, guitars and lush chords flow over deep beats, brightening up the floor and taking you ion a funky journey.

KRETIPLETI - Enskap (Kant Recordings)
Elemental Techno with an organic pounding fury that drives onwards and  is guaranteed to excite any crowd. Play this and it will blow the roof off, like being squeezed into a tin can and jettisoned into space.

ROBERTO FUEGO - Kesselflicker (LAD Publishing)
Ping-pong tech bleeps bounce then go bam as a killer bass beat, so phat that you will know something's coming... something serious. Melodic acid bleeps soon let rip and the driving sound will have the floor-filled.

Martijn Ten Velden vs Red Carpet - Together Alright (Phonetic Recordings)
This top tune is rockin’ the block all the way from Ibiza to the Capital. A peak time beauty, Together Alright is one of this summer’s most uplifting tracks. The chord driven melody is electric and the luscious vocal makes it more than just alright.

JP Chronic - Saxophonist In Paris (City Soul Project)

A house tune that’s got all the right ingredients to get the party fired up. A funky guitar loop, tight production and jazzy saxophone makes this a soulful hit with a real sense of avant garde style. A definite floor burner.

Marco Bailey and Tom Hades - Always Valid (Excentric Muzik)
A jaw unhinging, banging play from start to finish. Hungry and uncompromising this is hi-nrg at its brilliant best.

Carlos Francisco - Fortaleza Bacana, Soulight Remix (Unrivaled Music)
A deep house groover packed to the rafters with atmosphere and a soulful late evening vibe that begs to be played poolside. Groovey, sexy, hot and so, soooooo good that you’ll be lost in the music for what feels like forever.

Codec Shift - Viper Room (Veryverywrongindeed Recordings)

From out of the darkness, deep beats snake under the floor, building and building, squirming and turning as the bodies on the dance floor pulse in unison. What else would you expect of the Viper Room? This is one intense floor-filler that manages to be both very, very, wrong, yet very, very right.

ELOI - God's Love (Debug)


Minimal beats and catchy groove work this one as the 'God's Love' speech rides over the trancey chord pattern as the melody takes it higher and higher. What I'd call a happy tune to spread a smile across faces. Try it and see the effect.

ARSENIC LOVERS - Contre Temps (Mizumo) 

Electro, funk and stuttered sound make this a head-turning, brain bashing track that inflicts audio pressure like no other. Chances are if you don't feel your head is going to explode you no longer have hearing. It's loud.

SANDER VAN DOORN - Daddyrock (Doorn Records)


The hi-hats skite over as Van Doorn drops in the biggest bass and kick drums you'll have heard in a while. Peak time banging trance, this is going to be big. The large synth stabs slice through the melody demolishing everything in their path.

JOHN SAUSAGE - Burifara EP (Manual Music) 

Arpeggio's a go-go as the tension building bass threatens to suck all the oxygen from your lungs. The percussion keeps things flowing in old  skool waves. A sound-scape that's quite mesmerizing.

FRESKA - Comanche (Traum)

Electronica with a huge Kraftwerk influence. Warm melodic chords with soaring electric peaks burn away any doubt that this isn't going to be massive. Play this and see what happens. When dropped last Friday the crowd was putty from then onwards.
